Vision Statement
We are committed to maintaining a high quality program that encompasses the best elements of individualized education and meets the needs of all students. We support the role of parents in educating their children. We will continue to provide educational choice that includes academically sound curriculum and extra-curricular programs to produce independent learners who will become contributing members of society.

Mission Statement
The mission of Raven Correspondence School, in conjunction with the Yukon-Koyukuk School District, is to provide support to parents so that they can prepare their children to become life-long learners, problem-solvers, and contributing members of their family, community, and society by providing meaningful experiences that create understanding of their cultural heritage and the technological world.

Purposes:
1. Supply educational materials to parents
2. Supply teaching support to parents & students as needed to ensure a successful educational experience
3. Provide for extracurricular activities for students to enlarge their world
4. Provide individualized instruction to enable students to achieve their full potential

Raven Correspondence School students have the opportunity to:
1. Participate in the design of customized curriculum
2. Experience learning outside of classrooms
3. Receive one-to-one advisement with sensitive, experienced Alaska certified teachers
4. Earn high school credits
5. Earn college/post secondary credits
6. Earn credit year-round
7. Participate in adult education programs
8. Participate in learning labs
9. Learn at their own pace
10. Use learning styles with which they are successful

Enrollment Options:
1. Full-time - Enrolled only in Raven Correspondence School
2. Part-time - Enrolled in 1 to 3 courses with Raven Correspondence
3. Dual enrollment - Enrolled full or part time in Raven to take enrichment, remedial, advanced placement and/or general education courses while enrolled in:
     •Private School- restrictions apply
     •Public School- restrictions apply, please contact your local office for more information

Pre-School: $200 will be allotted for eligible preschool students with at least one full-time enrolled sibling. Purchases are for approved core-subject curriculum only (reading, writing and math readiness skills).

2. Student allotment provided for curricular materials, instruction, supplies, tutoring and activities

8. Internet reimbursement up to $50 per month (not taken from allotment)

Computer Options:
1. Computer assistance program ($250 user fee)
2. Computer reimbursement program ($38 per month- paid quarterly)

Enrichment/Activities:
1. River Readers program -earn free books by reading
2. Battle of the Books
3. Local area workshops
4. Local area field trips
5. Use of allotment to pay for Music, Art and PE lessons

Enrollment Requirements:
1. Student must be age 5 before September 1 of the current school year
2. Student must be under age 20 by September 1 and has not formerly received a high school diploma
3. Students must attend state mandated testing
4. Homeschooling parents must submit progress reports and work samples quarterly
5. Homeschooling parents must maintain monthly contact with their advisory teacher
